Who ever said contemporary abstract art should be still? Not innovative abstract artist Peter Hamlett. Peter spent much of 2007 conceiving, filming, editing and producing “The Bigger Picture” art film DVD and the artistic installation Purple Dream.

Peter creates contemporary art on the mico-cosmic scale, often on a small sheet of glass. He uses combinations of light, inks, paints and many other coloured liquids to create his moving abstract art works. Initially Peter photographed these works, often with a macro lens to produce the stunning abstract works of intricate delicacy and beauty displayed in the abstract, liquid, and other world contemporary art galleries.

These paintings have captured imaginations throughout Europe, yet artist Peter Hamlett always felt these still glimpses of his work did not convey the full beauty of his creations. The advantage of course is the detail and scale, large still acrylic works like Mother and Child in the abstract art gallery and Ebb and Flow in the liquid art gallery allow. These stunning abstract works are especially suited to the corporate art environment and larger homes. Amazing art as they are, they do not convey the artistic abstract movement of their creation which only Peter Hamlett saw.

In spring 2008 Peter Hamlett set about sharing this art in motion. Works like Yellow Pupil in the abstract art gallery and The Source in the other worlds art gallery develop so fast the artist often missed them so Peter decided to hire a high speed camera for his first project. Using the same camera that the BBC used to capture their famous clip of the whale catching the seal innovative artist Peter Hamlett filmed coloured drops. The high speed camera took detailed pictures, essential to create the high quality of work art critics, editors and the public have come to expect from artist Peter Hamlett. The resulting speed and detail of motion proved breathtaking, even to Peter. Currently, one art installation, which resulted from these series of filming sessions is available to purchase. A taste of the mesmerising detail in artistic installation Purple Dream can be watched on this site.

Quality original artistic film installations such as Purple Dream featured in the May and June edition of Picture Business art magazine are out of the financial reach of many buyers due to the cost of production and artistic input. They also tend to be short art films, often six minutes or less. Peter wanted to make the art work move in front of everyone’s eyes so he set about producing The Bigger Picture DVD. With a retail price of just £19.99, this is one moving art film everyone can purchase and enjoy. Not just satisfied with this amazing artistic value Peter Hamlett painstakingly edited together an hour of film to ensure the viewer would never get bored, or feel they know which art is coming next. Even Peter does not know, and he spent months editing the moving art footage, and many evenings enjoying the finished art film. It truly is an amazing, cutting edge art work ahead of its time – creating it’s time.

In order to match the quality he is known for in his photographic, abstract, nature, liquid and other worldly contemporary art works Peter ensured he hired the best camera available. All Hamlett Motion Art footage used in the final edit of “The Bigger Picture” is taken from cinema quality footage. This will make future HD projects, including Blu-ray, film, music industry and corporate artistic work easy and is as future proof as any original art film can be with present technology.

The unusual depth of colour and breathtaking detail of filmed moving images is a result of the artists painstaking research and dedication to the best. As stated in the July and August edition of the national art journal Picture Business this hopefully signals the end to camcorder production quality artistic film. The art world is ready to move on with Hamlett Motion Art at the innovative, contemporary helm.

Dedicated to producing only the highest quality art work the artist commissioned three soundtracks composed and recorded to enhance The Bigger Picture Hamlett Motion Art Film. Complete with detailed chapters this contemporary abstract art DVD is the height in viewing experience.

Allow yourself to get lost in the breathtaking ebb and flow of motion, often seeing different layers moving in different directions in front of your eyes. Yes Peter Hamlett actually filmed this abstract art work, it is not artificially generated by computer, it is natural (although heavily guided by the artist’s own hand). This is what makes it so fascinating and enthralling abstract motion art. The paintings and pictures actually move in front of your eyes. For those who love Harry Potter, part has come true, art works and photographs do now move.

Art needs to move into the realms of the youth - the generation who grew up with video and amazingly animated computer games. Innovative artists like Peter Hamlett are leading the field responding to both young and old, creating art that moves. Now there is a choice - movement does not need to be animated or computer generated - real, dynamic art is becoming part of the experience of youth. Computer generated graphics will never be able to give the feel of real motion, actual moving art will always capture.

Mankind has always been captivated by the movement of fire and water, we can all, young and old enjoy a real fire, or river just as we can enjoy real motion art. Central heating has replaced a lot of fire places, and heats very well, but some of the heart of the home has been lost. Moving art on your TV or computer, even if you are talking with friends recreates the focal point of the home, and turns the big, black hole of a blank TV into an amazing art work. The Bigger Picture DVD works even if you are not actively watching the abstract art film, it dresses the TV into an amazing, ever changing work of innovative contemporary art. Just press pause and you have your choice of 90,000 pictures – now there is bound to be an abstract painting to suit every taste and room décor and even every guest. No difficult decisions in the art gallery or shop, and no expensive prices. The Bigger Picture DVD presented by Hamlett Motion Art is the innovation and bargain of the century so far in the art world. See art move in The Bigger Picture Motion Art link. Own moving art only imagined in Harry Potter and join the artistic future. Beat the Credit Crunch with your next innovative art buy and spend less than £20.
